The Tin Ceiling Gallery

The Tin Ceiling Gallery celebrates original artwork and handcrafted merchandise created by artists with disabilities. Located in Park Rapids, Minnesota, our inclusive gallery and studio serve as a welcoming space where artists, creativity, and community come together.

Founded in 2023 as an extension of the CREATE Art Studio, The Tin Ceiling Gallery showcases artwork by artists with and without disabilities side by side, fostering connection, understanding, and inclusion through the arts.

We host exhibitions, offer art classes and workshops, provide access to a working studio for our participants, and feature a gift shop filled with unique, CREATE-made items. Through partnerships with staff and visiting teaching artists, we create opportunities for artistic growth, skill development, and professional advancement.

We are also committed to providing an inclusive employment environment where individuals can learn new skills, contribute their talents, and be part of a meaningful mission.

Throughout the year, we exhibit artwork created by CREATE participants, visiting artists, and artworks from our resident artist workshops, showcasing the creativity and talent that thrive within our region.

Vanessa Anderson

CREATE Artist & Painter - August 2026

Vanessa Anderson is from Leech Lake Reservation, Cass Lake, Minnesota, and finds inspiration in the people and experiences that are most meaningful to her, especially her family and the important role her aunties and grandparents play in her life. She enjoys spending time outdoors, whether taking walks or horseback riding at the stables.

While Vanessa also enjoys knitting and occasional sewing, her favorite way to express her creativity is through painting and drawing. Her artwork reflects her unique perspective, imagination, and love of color.

Jill Odegaard

Artist in Residence - Papermaking

Jill Odegaard is a visual artist living and working in Pennsylvania. She grew up in Minnesota and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Minnesota State University, Moorhead and her Master of Fine Art (MFA) from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Her studio practice explores textures and visual rhythms in two-dimensional and three-dimensional formats using handmade paper and mixed media. Over recent years, she has been fortunate to share her interest in handmade paper, book arts and community engagement as artist in residence at CREATE (formally the DAC).
